Information & Referral Resource Guide: Home

Connecting Social Service Resources to Libraries from Martin County to Miami-Dade

Survey

The Information and Referral Resource Guide is intended to help librarians develop connections with local and national social service resources and events so they can support patrons in the diverse communities across the South Florida Region. It provides access to  information for:

  • social service-related professional development, programming

  • grant writing resources

  • social service in libraries research

  • social work internship resources and connection to participating University Information

This resource was developed in collaboration with SEFLIN, FIU, FAU and the MDPLS Library System as well as other participants from SEFLIN member libraries.

This project was designed to ignite collaboration, building community partnerships among varied agencies and local resources. It is innovative in its approach, redefining service to patrons, considering the whole person, and developing a mosaic of connected resources within the community to tend to those needs.

I would like to thank Lauri Rebar, MLIS, M.Ed Associate University Librarian FAU and Jennifer Abeloff, Associate Director, Clinical Assistant Professor at FIU's Robert Stempel College of Public Health & Social Work for their efforts and aid on this project. As well as members of SEFLIN'S Social Services in Libraries Discussion Group who helped with the project.
